What is Water Jet?

Water Jet 4137 Bar (60.000 PSI) is water cutting technology with the help of abrasives. Water Jet is a system based on high speed (50m / sec) water power and equipped with special pump systems and used in the cutting of many materials including granite.

Advantages of Cutting with Water Jet

  • Cutting diameter is rather small (0.12 - +90.30 mm).
  • It can cut out very detailed geometry.
  • Material losses during cutting are very small.
  • No heat during cutting.
  • It can cut very thin and thick materials.
  • The cutting speed is quite fast.
  • Soft and light materials can break
(Fiberglass insulation materials can cut to 600 mm).

  • How Does Water Jet Work?

The customer passes any drawings, prints or files to our company. Our company transfers this drawing or file delivered to the digital medium and loads it on the computer. Later, these files or drawings are transferred to a language that İLKE water jet machines can read. In this way the water jets are now ready for cutting.

The water jet has two important components: a system that moves the cutting head over the material to be cut and a pump that produces 4160 bar (60,000) psi pressure. This pressure can perfectly cut water, plastic, foam, wood, flexible flooring materials, rubber, composite materials and all kinds of metals.

When cutting stone, metal, ceramics, glass and dense composites, the water jet is added to the gren for higher erosion action. The water jet does not generate any heat or pressure on the material being processed. The jet jet is a very important innovation in terms of production methods for both architectural and industrial applications. Despite traditional cutting methods in terms of material thickness and cutting difficulty, the water jet has significant advantages. Water jet, plasma cutting, laser, rovters or EDM (electric discharge machine) is a much more advanced and superior cutting method than such cutting methods. Any detailed shape that can not be cut by other cutting methods can be cut with great skill and perfection by water jet.

This cutting method provides advantages far beyond the cost element when compared with other cutting methods. Since it is a computer-aided program, it is possible to make cuts in equal sizes and in desired number. This is not possible in other cutting methods. Water is the ideal method of cutting water for composite material and plastic cutting that does not overcome any mechanical damage and delimitation. The water jet has no extra mold and material cost. Thanks to computer aided cutting and production, it is the most suitable method for cutting titanium, composite materials and optical glass.
